Nice approach from the tcktcktck COP15 campaign
Adbusters encouraging everyone to stop consuming for just one day - 28th November 2009. I'd love to think this initiative could make people stop and think about doing it once a week in their own lives. Take your own coffee to work that day, make a packed lunch, swap the daily newspaper for reading online, these tiny actions do help. Ultimately the message is no matter how efficient and sustainable the products we make in the future will be - the best action is to start curbing our consumption and thirst for the new.
nice simple concept by VW - great way to highlight they are a think outside of the box kind of brand, while producing some great viral activity.
After a time, 'Fun' can no doubt turn to 'Novelty' and we all know 'Novelty' easily wears off, but I love the notion of causing changes in behavior with positive actions rather than threats or consequences. So far in the climate change debate, for example, too many messages are about 'Massive Doom and Gloom Scenarios' - for one reason or another these messages are rarely a catalyst for change with the masses - subconsciously overwhelmed they all too often continue with behavior as normal. VW may well be onto to something here with their Fun Theory...
Great short web movie about the implications on the enviroment of our modern western consumption models. From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

At BGreen™ we are big fans of larger scale repurposing, and have recently come across a number of architectural projects incorporating old shipping containers. A quick search on Google will throw up all kind of delights but to get you started here are 5 we spotted on 'Spot Cool Stuff'.
We hope to get enough posts and links together to create a category for repurposed construction & design.
If anyone out there has experience of construction using shipping containers we'd love to hear about and showcase your project.
There are a number of great projects out there involving the use of Bamboo for bike frame construction - but this one also gives you the chance to take part in the construction of your bike, thus learning the skills required for a future build or to pass on down the line.
